Peugeot PX10-DU/Vitus 979

This lovely thing turned up at our bike charity recently, a very generous donation. Not really suitable for African schoolchildren so we're considering what to do with it. Anyone on here want to take it on? It would need a full strip and complete rebuild. We'd be asking for a generous donation to the charity.

Looks like it's been standing a while, the Peugeot decals have mostly gone but the frame looks undamaged and unmolested. Size 58cm.

Headset needs attention, very rough but might just have been overtightened. Mixture of components - earlyish Shimano 600 rear mech, Suntour Sprint front mech, and later 105 brakes and a Shimano chainset. Cinelli bars and stem.

Interesting wheels, the Campagnolo Record hubs probably older than the frame and laced to unknown but decent rims. 5 speed block The hub bearings sound rough.

Any interest?

Im not an expert on this model, but many frames of that era with bonded tubes do not fare well with age and end up little more than ornaments. Would be worth doing some research into this if youre ever considering jt being used.
