XOXO
I'd never considered pickled onions to be unhealthy?

I know the pickling process involves a fair bit of sugar and salt, but I don't think it takes away from the nutrients of an onion?

Just enjoyed a roast beef butty with lots of pickled onions.
I know its not healthy but......
When I was a kid (aged 13sh) I would often have a pickled onion butty....nothing else, just pickled onion.

I may just have regressed^_^

I assumed all that acid/vinegar must be unhealthy.

I agree about pickled onions and I would try brussel sprouts if I ever saw them.
Do you perchance do your own pickling?

I have done in the past but not in a while. One of those things on my list of things to do again.

A friend used to make batches of Pickled onions each year and she used to add chillies to the picking vinegar. The picked onions were legendary. Deceptively normal on first bite, and then the gradual build up of heat until eyes were watering.

I like them, but not enough to sandwich them. They make epic farts.

I would give these a go (when the house is empty) ^_^
