As I mentioned before, elbows, of which I had both done at same time. My armpits and my achillies heel. Think there's still bite marks in the tattoo chair.

10 hours of coaxing me out of the toilet so he could finish

There were breaks for coffee, pizza and to let me stretch.

I was always warned about going in p*ssed, something about it thinning out your blood and making you more likely to faint.

Not so much that. Tattooists hate pissed people because they usually act like knobs during a sitting.
Most tattooists won't work on pissed people anyway.

I was pissed for my first tattoo, albeit I was very well behaved.

I came out sober though!

As Ian says, these days they're a lot less likely to let you through the door if you're lagered up.

Just booked another cover up. They reckon it'll be 3 sessions but the old blurry sailing ship is going to be replaced by a colourful day of the dead style couple.

Had this done today. It's not just any Union Flag, it's taken from a photo of the flag in my local cathedral as it is the one from HMS Chester that was involved in the battle of Jutland

100% yes. I wished it was available back in the day when I had my armpits, elbows, kidneys and other naughty spots done.
I started using it a couple years back when getting my leg sleeves done. It was a revelation. However... as I found out.. my body reacted quite badly to it.
So advice is to try some first to see if you get any reaction. I used TKTX and it was brilliant.
However, if you do go down that route. Be careful where you get the cream from, only get it direct from the manufacturers, not 3rd party websites. There's a lot of fake stuff around.

Getting a tattoo today and asked the guy about numbing cream. Because I'm in for a double session, 16 hours, he strongly advised against it. He says it wears off after 3-4 hours and the skin is more sensitive after. He says the pain goes from bad to excruciating.

Just going to be gritting my teeth.

Numbing cream can be reapplied or applied in stages, just wrap with cling and keep as sealed as possible

With varying reasoning. My former artist was more than happy when I used it, she wasn't supplying it in studio so no blame if reactions occurred.
