I listened to them on youtube, just to see (hadn't heard of them till this morning) and now I want to slit my wrists

Apparently some of their tunes make good 'incidental' music, so whoever gets the royalties is made, and apparently the guy who presses the buttons is the one with the talent.

There was an article in The Times Saturday supplement about them last week. Very introspective group it would seem, who appear to have their heads on straight and have known each other since they were very young. They recently (a year ago?) kicked out/released a fourth band member which I wanted to know more about but they are keeping stum. Have no idea what the music is like but it's got to be better than most of the vapid nonsense they release these days.

As for looks and not that it matters I think two of them are gay and the third is possibly straight. So Yellow Fang may be in with a chance with one of them. ;)

A musician ought to be able to tell you if their songs are built around the standard four chord progression or actually have something to them.

My chemistry teacher at school said to me...

"If you can't do anything useful with you life Jim, you could always learn to sing".

There's a track of theirs, "Intro", which has been used thousands of time on the telly as incidental music over the last year. That's the only reason I knew who they were.

Tried the rest of the album on Spotify after I found out the TV music was them, but can't say I was enamoured with it.

Then again, the Mercury prize-winners are never usually up to much (eg last year's winner who failed to make any impression at all).
