Its about time people realised actions have consequences.

Her solicitor isn't doing her any favours. "At the time she just wasn't thinking..." Im sure she wasn't. Nevertheless, the prosecution were probably laughing into their sleeve if that was the quality of her 'defence.'

No shıt Shelock comment of the week. Isn't that precisely the reason why she finds herself in her current predicament?

In case it's not obvious btw, this was a legally rentable scooter not an illegal one. It says the council suspended their use afterwards with other councils following suit.

Doesn't make the man's death any less tragic of course.

Why not ban cars then which are causing far more harm?

Preaching to the choir reverend :becool:

If the scooter was limited to a slower speed, that might have prevented this.

I question the value of stand up e-scooters, especially the 80kph variety which are showing up now. They just look like top heavy way for a lazy type to get themselves involved in an accident.

I’ve got an e-cargo bike and spend some time on an e-bike forum as well. I’m depressed by the number of threads on that forum which are about deregulating and hopping up e-bikes and scooters. Such behaviour is only going to result in strict regulations and bans on e-bikes which is a shame as these do have a use.

twits bombing around on them drunk is also a problem, too often ending in tradigy.

Tragic incident. "At the time, she obviously wasn't thinking, but there's consequences and she just wants to get on with her life"

That's a pretty horrible statement, utterly lacking in contrition.

"She's obviously concerned and nervous and worried, she's a foreign national, [a] young foreign national girl in our prison,"

Oh boo hoo. How terrible for her.

I hope in reality shes a bit more contrite and less self pitying than these statements make out.

I have as much sympathy for her as I have for any drink driver.
