This is news to me. And disappointing news at that. It's difficult enough to get decent tea bags here in Oslo never mind decent loose tea. I'll make the effort though. I'm reducing the amount of plastic going through my household.

I had a girlfriend some years ago whose father was a researcher/professor at Manchester University and was looking into the potential harmful effects to organisms of plastics in the environment. I think he was working on it only in his spare time because he couldn't get the funding. He passed away before he published anything, unfortunately.

Edit: That was in the 90s.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Still worth composting them. Sieve the compost and put the 'ghost' of the teabags in the rubbish bin. I've been doing it for years.
