Your link doesn't seem to be working, but the Telegraph has a report here.
What a silly sod.

He shouldn't pay a penny. The police are the ones at fault. They should have checked out the contents. You can be arrested with a bag of glucose powder in your pocket but when they find out it's not cocaine you can't blame the person.
He refused to hand the can over. Missing his chance to walk away free.

He wanted to check if the police would enforce the No Drinking, found out they would and didn't like it. He'd swapped the container for a drinks can, to give the impression it was what the can showed it to be.

Refuses to hand over the "lager" tin or reveal its contents to the police. Deserves what he got.

Initially handed a fixed penalty notice. Then refused to pay it, once his test proved they would enforce it.
Obviously they can as that's what happened but enforce what exactly? I'm honestly not being obtuse but shouldn't law enforcement be above dealing with twats like this as drinking carrot juice is not an offence.

He's the sort of plum who'd wave a toy gun around in public and then bleat if the dibble shot him.
He is definitely a plum of the highest order but this is not America despite our close run ins with chair legs and the like.

A couple of kidney punches would have been more on a par though.:B)

His mistake was saying he was testing police. He should have just said that he wanted some carrot juice while going outside and didn't have anything else portable to put it in so he put in a Foster's can that he had washed and rinsed. But by saying he was "testing" police is just asking for trouble because it proves he had an ulterior motive. A silly sod indeed.

Totally understand that but it's carrot juice in alternative packaging. Clever police would have just moved the nodder on.
