I've stayed in a few Travel Lodges and Premier Inn's.

The Premier Inn is by far the best, most consistent of the two!.

Their beds are excellent (you can buy them, we might get one!).

We use Premier Inn always when going to Edinburgh. No complaints from Mr and Mrs Postman. The Continental breakfast is superb value. One of the best was i Birmingham,Gas Street i think.Dining area overlooked the canal.

Holiday Inn too.

the 4 bikes were too much so they showed us to a store room ( conference room with a bar to be fair) where we could lock bikes to the foot rail at the bar.

we were well surprised.

They cost about twice as much, so they should be better (just checked the nearest TL and PI for tonight. £92 for PI, £49 for TL)

Premier Inn have changed rooms for me before so that I was on the ground floor rather than having to carry the bike upstairs.
They did that for me in Inverness as well, I was really impressed how they went out of the way.

Its just a shame Premier Inn isn't a budget chain anymore, just booked 3 rooms for the 27th May for 5 people en route to Plymouth and I ended up booking a Hilton hotel as its way cheaper than the Premier Inn.

Nice looking bike. What is it?
As @vickster says, in fact she is pretty much the reason I got it.

Budget perhaps but not cheap (any more)
Your not kidding. I'm on the dbb for the next 2 weeks, thankfully my work is picking up the tab.

I'm in Birmingham, but it's Longbridge, which is a shame as I'm now heading out to try and find that canal as apparently, it goes on for miles.

Premier Inns are sometimes £49 or so too - it depends on what's on and how full they are. The first hotel Little KU went in was a Premier Inn, and she really liked it, so the next time we went away to see family, we used a PI again, and she loved it more - so now whenever we need to stay anywhere for a night or two, it's Premier Inn for us. It's because of the breakfasts, mainly

I tend to use premier inn when staying with all 4 of us. Same quality rooms and decent beds where ever you go.

Stayed at a nice hotel near Wilmslow last weekend for a wedding. The beds were shocking so I slept on the floor.

There was nothing in it between the two when we were looking (a while back).

Travel Lodge near Kings Cross was a real sh1t hole, middle of summer and aircon had been broken "for a while".

Had to sleep with window open listening to trains and drunk people, beds were poor. Staff just shrugged it off..
