Too many fair-weather fiends buzzing around like little insects brought out by the sun

Nearly offed by one who forgot he was not in his car and undertook me, cut straight across nearly taking my front wheel out, RLJ over the wrong side of the carriageway to hurtle across the pavement and get stuck at a crossing, gaining nothing except the opportunity to cycle across my path a second time

I had my fill of RLJing BSOs this morning ridden by idiots who had no idea how to cycle in anything approaching a straight line cutting across me and generally holding me up }

Had a RLJ idiot earlier in the week. He went ASL plus 20m to get in front then dawdled along in the way, I got past, he then jumped the next lights, I got past. Next obstacle was a queue of 4 cars waiting behind a bus at the bus stop, I filtered slowly up nearside, he tried to squeeze up the inside of me, I timed it just right so that he was presented with two options:

1. Stop
2. Ride into bus

Quite satisfying.

Except it wasn't a bus, it was a lorry with scaffolding poles sticking out of the back.

Don't complain about them - just chill. Remember they are training car drivers to leave us more space and be more careful around us, since they'll have to be much more careful around the newbies.

Good point BM.I know it's irritating to get overtaken by the same RLJer time and time again to the quickly overtake them again but like peds I think you have to be patient with them.

Yes I know it's difficult in this weather...I found it hard on my seventh commute due to the fact I was knackered.

To be honest, if someone nearly knocks me off through a combination of stupidity and disregard for my safety (sod their safety, if they want to make a number for themselves on the statistics so be it) then I am inclined to complain, whether they are in a car or on a bike

And if we are to have a rant to get it out of our system and then forget about it in time for the ride home, surely better here than anywhere else

The only time another cyclist has done anything frightening to me they looked like regular riders. I was stopped in the ASL and these two blokes in high viz whizzed up the cycle lane, one rode to my left and one rode to the right of me, both too close, then one stopped well ahead of the ASL while they other RLJed, not even looking what he was doing because he was turning round to wave to his mate!

I would like some rain though, I haven't ridden my new bike in the rain yet.

Mind, I got a bit annoyed by what looked like a regular commuter on the Old Kent Road yesterday morning - came pushing past me so close his pannier bashed my shoulder. Gave it a push away from me.

To clarify...it's not "newbies" I have a problem with.

My rant is about ones who have been doing it for years - just only when its sunny.

How do I know? Well, one this morning was on a 1992 Raleigh Pioneer in such good condition testament not to its fastidious maintenance and care, but from it's rarity of use

OK! I would still apply the sentiment from my earlier post though. I'd much rather they were on bikes than in the car/bus/train. They're irritating, sure, but a bonus to the rest of us cyclists.
