Please indulge my small moment of smugness

Saw the forecast was for heavy showers, today, so when I saw sunshine and blue skies early this morning, I jumped out of bed and racked up a couple of hours cycling in glorious sunshine. I toyed with extending it, but the wind was getting up and I'd really enjoyed it, so I went home.

No sooner sat down with a brew and the heavens opened.

That's it really. Just chuffed I got up and took advantage. Life's simple pleasures.

Carpe diem, before day carpe you, as they say.

I went out last night in beautiful sunshine, did my training run in the fastest time yet too despite slipping the chain at one point.

Not only that, but I'm a postie and today is my day off, so I'm sat in the house instead of getting completely drenched out on delivery ^_^

I was chuffed to make it out this morning too, especially as I put the newer cassette on the back with 3, yes3 more teeth in the climbing gear.

I smashed several pb's and was flying up the hills. I also averaged 2mph better than previous runs even with a huge head wind on the fast straights

I might treat myself to something as a reward now I've got nothing to do other than browse t'interweb

I did it all wrong. The new fence panels and posts came this morning so set about putting them in...it leathered it down! Worked all day then got the point where I was just so knackered and demoralised by the rain that I had to stop...just then the sun came out! Too tired to ride...and that's all I really wanted to to do today!!!
btw...I just looked at the posts and they're all out of line, even though I checked them at the time with the level...I'm crap at DIY!!!!

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Dire warnings of awful weather with thunderous downpours resulted in only 3* of us turning up for the Saturday club run. OK - it did rain for about 20 min prior to the start time, and I was going to pull out myself and return home, but it stopped, and off we set. A few more raindrops after the coffee stop, then blue skies and warm sunshine for the rest of the home leg. A good ride, 3 of us smug in the knowledge that we'd got out and beaten the forecast. No downpours, no thunder. Have you noticed how the online forecasts can change so rapidly - day to day, and hour to hour - almost no more use than just looking out of the window before you leave.
* there would normally be 15 or so.
