Poached eggs

At the risk of topic drift I say always scrambled, never poached. And if you don't prefer scrambled to poached you aren't doing it right.
...

it goes like this...

very fresh eggs... anything but poached is a waste.
not so fresh eggs... boiled, fried, scrambled or omelette... whatever you fancy.

I'm getting good at TMNs. I've had three in the last week.

bit of a faff but I use cling film saw it on tv some where. Pop bit of cling film in a cup just smear bit oil around it to stop it sticking. Crack the egg in it just twist the top of the cling film up and pop it in boiling water for 4-5 minutes lift it out and slide on a nice bit of toast works a treat

You see, that is why I've been getting TMNs. I was about to say that it looked lush - same word.

For the perfect poached egg, go to a posh hotel and get a chef to do it for you. Sorted.

I've now got 4 chicks that are providing a an egg a day each!

eggs from last few days.

My method of poached eggs and i'm NO cook at all, Boil water in kettle then add to saucepan add eggs whilst still boiling 3 mins and vwallaa. Must say yolks ar much nicer with fresh eggs than with bought eggs.
Now off to collect todays eggs and feed them i think!!

We just fenced off an area of the garden and kept them in that. Most of the poo ends up in the roosting area of the hen house so it's not too much of a pain to keep clean, especially if there's a tray that can be taken out and emptied into the compost bin.

Anyway, the poo is excellent fertiliser for the roses.

i must ask. just how hard is it to train the hens to lay the eggs in the right part of the box?

I've converted a large rabbit run into a hen house and added a roosting box onto the back and the hens just automatically go into it to lay eggs!! Yes they do poop a lot which I don't think my mrs accounted for but with a regular hose and sweep of concrete area of yard its not to bad. The stuff outta the run I just scoop onto the garden to help regrow everything they've eaten.

You are doing everything right, although I never use vinegar.

The fresher the egg, the more likely they will bind nicely.

This was my breakfast on Saturday.. Nom nom nom! Black pudding, crispy bacon, spinach and poached egg on toast.

You can do it using cellophane bit it's really fiddly.

That's nasty, horrid, food porn that is. You'll lead people astray with pictures like that.
