IIRC there is a 24 hour race on ice at Chamonix

In some ways that is better than the "wear the shortest skirt and the most revealing top" type phase

and, based on experience in schools, the goth phase is more common in the top sets
the other is more common in the lower sets
the reasons for which are more complicated than that obvious
but then everything is concerning teenagers - especially girls
