What sort of acknowledgement is required here?The OP seems to be getting a kicking here, but it isn't unreasonable to expect the police to at least acknowledge lawbreaking when it happens before their very eyes.

I think that we used to be frightened of the police - or at least have respect for them. I know I was brought up to be. At one time it you'd wonder what you were doing wrong if a policeman so much as looked at you.
I don't think there is that respect/fear/wariness at all now.
Perhaps they aren't allowed to use the siren in that way? I've no idea about this but it could be the case. I suppose. Perhaps? Any coppers in today?True and Im sure popping the siren on for half a second wouldve taken them away from that rapist they were tailing...
