Except
those locks look like cheap 4 dial combination version

exactly the same as "everyone" on cycling forums and the media say are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard

personally I used one like that - plus a cheap cable key lock - as a cafe lock - at places where I can see the bike most fo the time anyway

Of course - it would be enough to stop the "oh look a bike - I ride it off" type thief

any comments????

Thanks

If there’s a group of you. You can use several of those locks or similar to fasten several bikes together which makes harder for someone to just grab a bike and go.

Better than no lock at all.
The first one I ever bought was like that. It depends the sort of place you're leaving your bike. I'm using that lock now to secure my trail cam to a tree

The event is also an opportunity for the police to engage with people and chat to them about security. Tempting folk in with free stuff is always easier.

I've got one of the front lights, AliExpress special which is ok for rides up to a couple of hours or so. Better than none at all though!
