Colleague of mine bought a GoPro after trying mine out.

On his first day he was innocently cycling along when a car overtook him politely and with plenty of room.

30 yards ahead, driver pulls out of a side junction with full solid stop line straight into the side of the car that had just overtaken.

Colleague stopped, offered assistance and called the Police

Told Police that he had (he hoped) the whole thing on video

Police thought this was fantastic and asked if he was able to provide. He was asked to download to a DVD, but NOT to make any changes or record anything else on the SD Card

They needed the raw data so that it could be proven as an accurate untampered record

When Police arrived at his house they looked at the DVD and then took the DVD AND the SD card as evidence

The driver was successfully prosecuted as an "open and shut" case

Not sure why they would need the whole SD card? That could get expensive. All they really need is a copy of the file and to look at the metadata to see when edits/saves have been made, surely.

They stated that the SD Card was required in an untampered state if the defence ever claimed that the film had been edited or altered.

It was returned after the successful prosecution

Thought I recognised that road, A24 into Epsom. I had an incident a couple of years ago going along there the other way, I had some dick try to overtake me while I was passing a bollard through a pinch point....such as shame as he didn't have enough space and drove over the island, a Big Bang behind me, rattle, rattle...sounded like a new tyre and wheel might be needed...poor pillock...oh how I chuckled

Yeah, I ride that road a lot. In general it's fine - wide with good sightlines.
But those incessant pinch points are a massive ballache.

And the appalling road surface especially around the kiln lane lights!

They've been doing resurfacing up past the Homebase roundabout, so hopefully they are getting to the Kiln Lane area soon.
