How do you get yellow buildup off of the bumpers, I’ve struggled with that ever since the internet came out.

Once a week wash here !
Might think about re-applying the ceramic protection to the van, but it's still doing it's job. Makes washing easy.

I used to get the blokes in Sainsbury's carpark to wash the car. But we don't go to the supermarket any more, we get shopping delivered. It hasn't been washed for several years.
I do vacuum it inside tho.

My son hasn't washed or even vacuumed his car in six months. We avoid going in it.
He often ends up borrowing the 'Aygo' when his car breaks. Returns it in a mess. This last time I told him to hoover it. At least he did it, but returned it with some dents in the roof from carrying in-appropriate stuff on a roof rack. He's not allowed near my van, not even to move it off the drive. He's asked a few times if he can borrow it to go to the car race meetings and sleep in it - no has been the answer.

Weekly here too, even when recovering from a mini stroke!
2 or three shampoo and leathers for every one application of Car Plan Super Gloss, the slipperiest substance in the universe.

I can't say I'm a fastidious washer of cars but when they need it I do. When I had Land Rovers it was a different kettle of fish as we went off-roading every other weekend and they got a damned good wash after each outing 
Never bothered with polish though as there were too many scratches to get a shine

I don’t polish our car I use deionised water from a filter connected to my home water supply. I generally wash all the house windows first then use the brush and deionised water on the car. It dries shining like a new car leaving no water streaks at all.

When I had company cars the scheme rules said you to wash it regularly. I diligently washed it every three years before it went back, whether it needed it or not

A friend of mine used to be a car salesman, and anyone caught not keeping their company car apparently suffered the indignity of having it taken off them and being given a pink Micra for a week.

My problem is water, our house is 50 yards ish from the road so no hosepipe feasible so I tend to do a 3 bucket wash, one for the wheels, another to wash, another to rinse. In 50 years of driving,, probably only been through car washes 5 times, I like washing them, not paying someone or something else to do it.
Now of course, bucket washes are not particually good for the paintwork, I accept that and be as careful as I can.
Waxing, got a tub of Meguirers diamond wax paste (can't remember the.name), not too bad to get on and buff.
Don't do it (washing or waxing) often enough, I'm a bit lazy with cars. Wash maybe every 2 or 3 weeks, wax 3 or 4 times a year.
