Polygon Urbano 3

Probably can't buy these in the UK because polygon sells through Halfords as the Carrera.
Shimano Claris rear mech 8 speed. Tektro single sided cable actuated discs, the hydraulics on the G line are way better. The cockpit is a little cramped, the bars are too high for me. Stiff, responds to pedal input like there was another zero or two on the price tag. Claris out shifts Alfine, makes no damn sense. The tyres are nothing great, but they aren't in the same class as the Continentals.

So far the Urbano cost a ninth what the G line did. The lights will cost about twice what I paid for the bike and change that to a quarter. The G came with a rear rack, carrier block and mudguards, they are useful and I very much like them, I guess those items and slightly better braking are worth $3000 ? ( As a Patriot and hard working 'Merican I do put considerable value on being made in the first world and not by a country with beliefs counter to my own). All that said the welds on the Urbano look better than any I've seen on any bike, not the cringe worthy stuff you see on some Chinese steel bikes.

As you know, Im a huge fan of the ID/Urbano range of folders. That level,of spec, on the ID9 and Urbano 5 in particular, and with that level of, performance for such a measly price is astonishing.

Made in Malaysia I think...?

I do like the color. Yes they are Kendas , they're all black so you have to look hard, and some of us have to go for our readers.

I really didn't need another bike , but BikesOnline had a slight sale , they're already pretty affordable so what the heck. A second G would have seen me saving for a few more months. Nothing , component wise, is trash. The fold is a bi fold and since it does not lock together when folded, is much harder for me to get out and put away than any Brompton. I'm 5'6" , that is fairly short for those who don't speak SAE, the seats of the truck I live in are at the top of my head- so I have to heave and yank to get the bike in . Me thinks the Urbano will be a maintenance backup, and will spend time in storage. The only real downside to this thing is when it is folded it does not ride well in the truck (articulated lorry).

Responsive. I got the front wheel off of the ground sprinting for a light, never done that with a B even unladen.
Made in Indonesia. Is that part of Malaysia, my geography there is sketchy?
