Ponds - PVC or Rubber liner ?

I will be placing stone / boulders all around the edge
This what concerned me because it looks like the stones are already fixed, if not you need to pull the liner up behind the stones so that when the water is in half the stone will be in the water, I realize this may be personal preference but I have made a few ponds, As for the rounding off - if you put a thick layer of sand in and mold this like a bowl shape the liner (square) will fit better and you will be able to carefully walk on the liner and you can save the other stuff for any rough edges on stone etc that you pull the liner over.
Just a tip: the butyl liner will be easier to manipulate in warm weather.

I have but I just got a 2m x 2m pre packed liner thing from the aquatic shop. Not one of the funky ones on the big roll with the big price tag. My pond is not a big, gorgeous one like that.
I have, however, found that our local quarry sells to the general public and not just to trade customers so I'm off to hunt out a few nice big rocks for the edges.
