Same as that, although it wasn't slimey in fairness. I built a large veg border last year and my raised beds needed filling. The cheapest way was a couple of pallets of cheap compost. But it seems there's just no goodness in it, I'll get some good stuff dug in over the winter now for next year and make sure the pots get some better stuff too. Like you my toms pretty much gave up a few weeks ago, although the Sungold are beautiful aren't they :mrpig:

I'm dismantling my raised beds I think. We are always doing other stuff like cycling, so they get neglected. My trouble is thick clay soil here, so it'll be roses and gravel!

My beefsteak and plum tomatoes are yielding loads this year. Gardeners Delights are not delighting much though....

I've made an attempt at growing tomatoes for the first time and the plants are creaking under the weight.
Trouble is, they're all green as the weather has been poor and they only get any available sunshine up until about 1pm due to shade.
Hopefully, they will eventually ripen.

We had a heavy frost in late April. This killed off a lot of fruit buds and the leaves on some of the trees. Apple varieties that had already set and those that flowered later were unharmed. We expect the overall apple crop to be down by 30%.

My Apple tree started flowering again last week. No idea why

Seem to be plenty of green tomatoes, just need some sun. As others have mentioned runner beans plentiful. Peas were poor, broad beans mixed (lots of pods but no beans inside). The amount of rain has meant plants including flowers have put on good growth but fewer flowers.

My biggest enemy is my cat digging newly sown seeds :cursing:

Did'nt bother with tomatoes this year as got blight last year which ruined the crop. Potatoes are the biggest crop I have ever seen with 3 kg off one haulm and the broad beans are also fantastic as well so broccoli. Runner beans are always much later with me which is fortunate as it gives me time to freeze the broad beans first. Trouble is I do not keep records of varieties so have no idea what any of them are.

My gardener informed my butler that the cherry tree harvest is poor this year.....think I only spotted 3 measly cherries this year.
Also have 3 apple trees (two eaters and one 'cooker')......eaters are absolutely bursting with fruit - best crop in 10 years - and plan to make cider :hungry:. Cooking apple tree not so great; prolly about 50% of normal yield.
Mother dearest keeps popping round with rhubarb. Mrs pie makes the best rhubarb crumble on the planet. Oh yeah!

Yep, Toms are rubbish this year. Total waste of time, grow bag and every thing else. But courgette and cucumbers have been good.
