So hopefully a week from now we will bearing down on luton at quite a pace with no wind, rain, ice or sign of a headwind. We froze in the icey Peak yesterday morning and swam home from Doncaster in the final hour of todays 50 miler so good weather is guaranteed right?

Davy/Teef have you had any more thoughts of a sortie north?

Obviously and sure.. ha! Looking over your map, around the St. Albans area is where I would hesitate to join you. If you are planning a pit stop near there, or before, then that would be great for meeting point. If not, along that route with a rough ETA would be fine. And if were/am not there, then obviously just carry on... I am a big boy now after all...

Ideally we will just have the one proper stop in Market Harborough and will have enough food and eat enough just to crack on for home from there. Can certainly come up with a rough eta for an agreed point in St, A. Can try to update you along the way as well.

the vision is...

Leave Sheffield 5am > Arrive at Market Harbourough by 10am
Drink lots of coffee and eat a bit, meet Flying Dodo and depart by 11am
This leaves just under 100 miles to Trafalgar Square > 75 to St Albans and the rest through town. Based on this expect to be in St.A between 3 to 3-30pm.
Assuming this takes ~6 hours with flagging legs, plus a bit of lee way for unexpected delays (walnut stops etc) expect to arrive between 5-6pm.

These may prove to be hopelessly optimistic, taken from the school of bigmartin route planning not the arallsopp pessimist camp; at the moment we are forecast a tail wind. WIN!

Given that you may opt to stop for 30 minutes during your 100 miles, I'd like to say that I am glad I'm not riding with you as 25 miles an hour, continually, for four hours, is beyond me.

On the other hand, maybe the BMX is still in Brighton

Depending on timing and the Sunday London Ride, I would love to come along for some of the London bit of this. I will look out for updates.

Have a good trip and I am hoping arallsopp is ummm, wrong!! (or at least not quite right!)
