The first of the new Nettos opened in Moortown here in Leeds last year. At first it was nearly always empty of customers - it was in part of the premises that had been a Sainsburys with the new, enlarged Sainsburys occupying a site 2-300 metres away. I use it regularly for the core weekly shopping. Its meat and veg are great value and a week's groceries are around £20 cheaper than Asda/
Morrisons/Sainsburys. The place is spacious, clean and a much more attractive place to shop than Aldi and Lidl and some of the smaller Asda branches.
The main things that are missing are:
A wide range of premium branded groceries
A fish counter
A butcher's counter
These shortcomings are easily addressed by the occasional visit elsewhere to stock up the freezer.
