MDB's intense sugar-lust and keen handyman skills have unfortunately proved all too exploitable by some of the less principled members of his extended family, perhaps the worst example being that of his Auntie Nan, who got him the redecorate her front room for a Bounty bar and a Curlywurly.

SP99 once liked Bounty Bars, until someone informed him they contained coconut.

tb's mum put him up for Britain's Got Talent on account of the over £200 she'd spent on tap dancing lessons, but that awful Osbourne woman told him that although Britain had talent, he most certainly did not, while Mr Cowell made comments that really cannot be repeated on a family-friendly forum

Speicher is just too damn quick. On a keyboard anyway...sadly on a bike she seldom exceeds 4.5 mph.

Ever so slightly off topic, Uncle Mort. Magnus Backstedt and his colleague on the Eneco tour were giggling over the translation of Schatsberg, and would not say what they were laughing about, what does it translate to?

Equally OT, and pending a response from the Man from Uncle, you bring to mind a recent letter from The Grauniad:

I read your account of Spurs Champions League with a little sadness (Sport, 18 August). In 1972, during a stay in Berne, I attended a football match between the Stuttgart Lions and the Young Boys. The match was completely unmemorable but the full team names on the scoreboard were not. The name of the Young Boys' then stadium, "Wankdorf", preceded the current club name. I fear that the spread of English vernacular by football fans has reduced the opportunities for such unintended and innocent amusement.

tb actually won a yodelling contest without ever having attended a course or indeed had training of any description. It was all due to an unfortunate incident involving a zip.
