I dunno, they kind of drop down and try to decelerate against the trunk and land on all 4s.

Cats are pretty springy, so once they figure out what's possible they get more confident. The previous week they climbed a more climbable willow and the mode of descent was more cartoon than technique and some of the landings were unscheduled. After which, they did the same thing only pointing forward so they could see where they were going.
