when I went to see Bryan Adams when I was young as a group of mates liked him. I am sure that I probably brought a bit of sick up in my mouth and swallowed it again when he did that song Everything I Do For You or whatever it was called

Back in the day Chris Evans had a Saturday morning radio show on a small London station. One day he said he'd been at a wedding the day before where that song had been requested for the ceremony. Unfortunately the organist had to be replaced at the last minute, the stand in misunderstood the specified 'Theme from the movie Robin Hood', leaving the happy couple coming up the aisle to the strains of 'Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen' etc.

At the same time I only went [to a Bon Jovi concert] because my younger horny girlfriend at the time was a fan. I was never into them then, and I am even less into them now. He seemed like a nice guy though, and they have a very good lead guitar player (even though the music is cheese).

Having said that I enjoyed the concert.

I bet you enjoyed the "afterparty" a lot more

I was on Radio London (almost) every Saturday for a couple of years when I was a kid. Well, not just me, there was about 7-8 of us interviewing "people of interest" for a program called Shindig back in the early seventies.

When I was about 12 I won a design competition at school. The prize was a model of one of the power stations (Kingsnorth) that can be seen across the Thames on the approach to Southend, made out of steel. I had to carry it home in my school bag and it weighed a ton!

I let Eddy Merckx have a couple of my Rothmans.

That's seriously cool.

I met Bradley Wiggins when he was filming "Superstars" on TV in 2003 and again after a TDF TT in Rennes in 2006 and he remembered me (At least he said he did) - it may be true as I spent a fair bit of time with the cyclists in 2003 on Superstars (they just happened to be filming and I was nearby). I was the only one who had an in-depth knowledge of cycling.

I think Bradley, Chris Hoy and Jason Queally were amazed I recognised them, and could reel off their wins as a fan, and we spent a fair bit of time together.

Smashing fellows they all were - especially Jason Queally.
