My mate and I followed the route of the Peaks Epic today, beautiful scenery and a fantastic quiet route but it was climb after climb. Ended up the most climbing I've done so far at 7,300ft over 63 miles.

And a weird thing happened too. As we were riding through the Goyt Valley my mate said he wondered if there was an ice cream van there as there is at Grindleford. There wasn't, but 5 miles outside Bakewell on a tiny country lane we saw a sign for ice cream, and at the side of the road was an old guy with a car, a generator and an ice cream cart! Needless to say we stopped for one!
