There is, I can knock on the door, but as I sold the house and they bought it, there might be awkward issues... you know, in case they have found issues ith the house,or something like that.
They might have found the porn stash you left behind?

On the other hand they may love it so much that they want to give you cake and coffee. Unless you sold them a dud

I know a few of the postmen to say hello to
I'd have thought this was your first port of call. I had something along these lines - ie, something where 'the correct procedure' would have been a total pain for all concerned - and I had a chat about it with my friendly postman. He sorted it out in a non-correct, but entirely sensible, way. As Postman says, they do go out of their way to be helpful. Something to do with the old public service ethos, I think. Also helps relieve the tedium.

^^^^ Steady on, @steveindenmark. Don't think Fnaar is in the land where the people are the happiest in the world.

I would knock on your old door. You moved out more than 2 years ago so any issues are not yours. Or you could look on it as an opportunity to help fix the issues and spread some goodwill around.
Good idea, I wouldn't think they'd harbour any animosity towards you even if the structure had issues.
I remember I was on a US forum once and a guy had a problem with another member he had sent something to for repair and heard no more. I suggested going to his address and knocking the door but he replied ' No thanks they're rather well armed down there'!
Thank goodness it's not like that in the UK.

*** UPDATE *** (which I'm sure you've all been waiting for :laugh::laugh:)

The extremely helpful sorting office lady looked at my proof of ID, proof of old address, proof of new address, and said she'd leave a note for the postie to re-direct :okay::smile:
Thanks all for your input
This sounds like a perfect left hand right hand scenario, I wait with baited breath to see if it pans out
