Potential unknown Falcon

I have the opportunity to acquire this Falcon bicycle.
It’s has Campagnolo parts which I know and Zeus components which I know very little about?
Not sure of model or age?
Is it worth saving?

A major labour of love, but a worthwhile one. I would guess 1965–75 for the date. I am not sure if Zeus components were ever standard specification on Falcons so you would need to check that if you are seeking true authenticity. Nervex lugs and a quality fork crown are good touches. You will probably need to re-chrome and re-spray. The chainset looks sub-standard compared to the Campag Record gears so is probably a later addition. A very satisfying job to undertake but fairly costly, so get the purchase price down as far as possible if you decide to buy. Enjoy the renovation.

Looks a bit rough so needs lot of work so you don't want to pay much for the starting position! That said frame looks quite nice, pretty lugs, campag drop outs and RD so with a lot of work you could end up with a nice bike. do check the rust is surface only and not inside the frame though....

No expert on Falcon but looks to be late sixties. The Zeus FD and levers would seem to be a later addition. Not a high end frame but does have Campag dropouts. Classic Falcon powder blue colour scheme.
If the frame is sound could be worth saving but won’t be a cheap to do a full restoration.

Frame number would help ID the year.

It's a FOC so no major worries on the cost side, its just whether i can give it the restoration it deserves I guess?

A FOC collection so nothing to expensive.

Think I will collect and give it a thorough inspection prior to restoration comitment.

Just reviewing old posts. I wondered what you decided to do with this machine? It looks like a late 1960s, one of the (many) San Remo variants.

Chromed stays , Nervex lugs and Campagnolo derailleur sounds like a very good bike .
The rust could be treated with rust remover or even lemon juice . The bike would look a lot better after a wash and a bit of a polish .
I hope that we could see once cleaned up .

After a lot of thought I stripped the bike and got the good parts and scrapped the rest. Frame was badly corroded and in poor state.
I have too many projects and this one would never be finished.
Parts will appear somewhere soon hopefully.

You haven't scrapped the frame ?
I'm sure that the rust could be cleaned up .
