Really really want to contribute to this discussion but alas I can't , however on a brighter note we often ride in Cheshire which requires quick reactions and slalom skills, and that's just in the car.
The roads are a mess. I make extra sure the rear tyres are at least 110 psi with the panniers as I've dented rims a few times in Stockport over the last two years.
As much as I enjoy using the road bike on the commute, I must admit the 35mm shod CX is so much comfier on the roads around here, bone shaking at times.
I've had a dupuytrens' contracture removed- basically a load of chow mein removed from me hand + finger. Haven't beem on the bike for 2 1/2 weeks- was full of codiene for two of em.....
