Power Cables for a 8800 GTX (768MB)

Evening all

Just purchased a 8800 GTX, Graphics card from Fleebay

My PSU doesnt have the required cables to power the beast, but I believe you can get molex to 6 pin ones?

Can you kind people provide me with link for such item ? (Ideally from a store thats open now, IE pc world)

I did get one but the 6 pin thing that goes into the card doesnt fit ????

Hmm what is your PSU wattage wise as the lack of graohics card adapters doesn't suggest recent or quality
and a review of the card describes it as power hungry taking 315w on it's own under stress (note you'll need a lot more than 315w to run the rest of the pc as well, the review mentions NVIDIA speccing a 450w as minimum but opines that that would be a high quality PSU and borderline even then). Opinions say a 600w plus PSU with guaranteed sustainable output of 30 amps from the 12v rails.

I have an 850W psu for an ATi Radeon 5770 it requires 500 and 650 for crossfire.

That is very unlikely the fact that the psu doesn't have a PCIe cable suggest that it won't be a very good power supply and the 8800 GTX is a very power hungry card, given that it needs two PCIe cables. Of course the power supply wattage will depend on the other components of the computer but at the very least you will need a very good 400w power supply. To illustrate this is a good power supply,the oem is seasonic, that should power you computer dependant on the rest of you components; while this is a very bad PSU that is probably made with cheap Chinese part and will most likely take out your system.

It is probably the most important part of your system having a bad power can cause instability and if it blows up can take out most of the components of you computer.

Either way list your system specs and the power supply you have now, including the manufacture.
