Premium bonds - weird coincidence

Today £100. Last month £1,050 - which made me very happy as it was more than I had won in any calendar year.

year of 2024 my winning bonds gave me a return of 5.1%.

Well done, I find that impressive good fortune.
The last 2 calendar years my return was just over 3% each year. I thought this almost reasonable. I would hope to achieve over 4% this calendar year which I would be quite happy with as interest rates are now sliding downwards.

If any of you “Bonders” keep a record of your winnings and like myself enjoy playing with percentages here are my figures.
For the calendar year of 2024 my winning bonds gave me a return of 5.1%.
For the financial ( tax) year from April 2024 up ‘till now with March still a possibility the return on my investment has been 6.45%.
I am very happy with those returns and for me the icing on the cake is that the taxman doesn’t get a look in.

Here’s mine (calendar years):
2021 1.15%
2022 1.15%
2023 3.10%
2024 25.30%

Nothing for the past two months but roughly over the year I get about 4%.

We cancelled all our Premium Bonds a decade or more ago - or so we thought!

Apparently I missed one which I still hold.

On my 65th Birthday I received a prize cheque for £25!
