I dont believe its winter storms thats prompted this, the national energy system operator recently warned demand might exceed supply this winter, leading to power outages.
Yes, that's what I think too.
I wonder if on a power outage my gas hob will still work?
If yes I'm sorted ^_^ I'll cuddle the cat for a heat source
When I went to Tesco on Saturday evening, the store was totally devoid of sardines and chickpeas.
Are those the new 2026/7 toilet paper?
Drinking water I'm working on.
I don't know if here in Scotland we need to prep for drinking water.
In over 40 years of me living here, in various locations, I can only remember the water getting cut twice.
Once because of Scottish Water works, the other time was because some youths vandalized a hydrant.

ah but you have to be careful with the sardines and pilchards, and assuming its panic buying, theres been a global sardine/pilchard shortage for the last year and Morocco where most of Europe and the UKs supply came from have banned exports, so some supermarkets have just stopped stocking them completely.

There will be trouble if we run out of oats and yoghurt. I've only got half a jar of Branston pickle left - I'll not be having cheese and pickle sarnies for lunch.

My wife's old battery/mains radio she had as a kid is in my garage.
