Press Fit BB Replacement

My OHs Liv bike has a press fit BB which has started to get stiff, so will need replacing.
I do most repairs on our bikes and wondered if it is worth buying BB removal and installation tools to replace these or take it to the bike shop?
Also which BB press fit tools are worth buying ?

I have a bb30 bottom bracket which needs replacing must have replaced it bi annually.

Worth having the tool.

Good afternoon,

I bought one of the cheapo tools that you hit with a hammer, it broke the press fit unit rather than drive it out!

Yes this is a press fit BB (BB72), the tool broke the "ridge" and pushed the bearing out of the cup, leaving the cup in the frame!


I made the mistake of buying something cheap because I wasn't going to use it often and the better tool was described in as being unsuitable.

I let somebody else do mine, so when it goes south its there problem to sort. I made a point of ditching my press fit bike and wouldn't have another.
