Press fit BB, to glue or not ?

I’ve luckily managed to avoid PF BB’s for over 10yrs. Now a new build is chuffing PF 🤔 read the BB manufacturers recommendations and they suggest some regular grease in the cups before insertion, it’s what i would have done. But the frame manufacturer suggest loctite 641 ie a retaining compound (ok not a glue in that sense). Never used that in a press fit so need some advice.

Hoping for a quiet BB life🤔😙

That aint gonna happen. Both those remedies are just there to make you feel that you've tried, but somehow didn't do it quite right.

I have a press fit bike. New the BB lasted barely a year before problems. I’d never done one before and being a bit wary I took it to a lbs and it went over 2 years before becoming a problem again.
Time to fit it myself I built a simple tool and installed the new bearings taking my time and great care I did use some recommended loctite. That was in 2018 it’s done a big mileage since including a LEJOG year and it’s still perfect.

Can you elaborate on the tool?

That’s encouraging on the loctite front at least, thanks

Both my gravel and road bike are press fit. I've owned my road bike for 10 years, and have changed the BB once. But it has never creaked or given me any issues.
My gravel bike goes through 2 per year if it's really wet. But again, never creaks or anything. Never had any issues. But I do have to ride through flood waters in very wet winters (like this year), so I replace as a matter of routine maintenance.
