Hi this is a bit random but I need some advice... :shy:
I'm not long into cycling, but if I cycle longer distances .. The ball of my hands really start to ache to the point where they feel bruised
I am aware I am leaning on my hands a bit, but don't know how to change this .. I've thought about getting more padded gloves but they all seem much the same to me
Can anyone give me any advice please??

I'm just getting into cycling after a few years away but back then I had the same issues.
I invested in new gloves (like you say, they tend to be much the same!) and the only thing that I found really helped me, was fitting some upright grips.
Don't know that that's the correct term for them!

My hands did feel better in time, so maybe it's one of those things like seat problems....you toughen up eventually?
Sorry I can't be of more help!

PS - love your doggy!

Check your bike set up, THIS site should help.

Your saddle may be to high and/or to angled, your bars may also be too low.

Remember though, small changes can make a big difference, so adjust things little by little.

The perfect set up can take a fair bit of tweaking, but it's well worth the effort.

I've just recently put my seat up and moved it forward a bit, will keep trying and thanks x

I don't get sore anymore but it's always my left hand that goes to sleep never had a problem with the right a:headshake:

Other way round, but again I suffered an injury to my right wrist several years ago.
As your core strength improves you wont be resting on the bars quite so much.

I have been only cycling 1 week but had the same problem after I raised my saddle 1 inch, brought it back down a half inch and am comfortable all round now,I have my saddle very slightly down at the front, few degrees,as said above small changes make a massive differance
