Weird is that drinking in the local Taverne (yes it is called that) here is considered the province of alcoholics so everyone else drinks at home (the definition of an alcoholic in the UK) and the more you buy the cheaper it gets. A bottle is 341 ml. (how that converts to pints I have no idea). Labatts is $9.99 for 6 $18.99 for 12 and $24.99 for 24 plus tax plus 10 cents a bottle deposit. What they charge in The Taverne I have no idea.
A couple of guys hunting at this time of year will fit a case in the cool box and drink it all during the day.

Try the Horse Shoe, Drury Street (near central station). Good old fashioned "proper" pub, with Deuchars about £2.30 for a pint.£3-£3.50 depending on product in most of the West End pubs
