So someone has demanded via youtube that this video is removed. The 'chap' at 1:33 has apparently suggested that his privacy has been violated. Yes the 'chap' who decided to shout random abuse at me (I know his name). So despite the fact that my videoing and posting of videos is perfectly legal (I contacted the Information Commissioner to confirm this), and the fact that I was filming in a public place, and the fact that this chap made the decision to abuse me, youtube's policy is to beleive the complainant (without proof of identity) and to remove the video.

So all anyone has to do to remove my videos (and I realise by saying this, it will be a self fullfilling prophesy), is claim that they are in it, and that they want it removed.

This has happened before (and on that occasion I have proof that the complainant was not in the video) and I am sick of this. So I want to move my videos from youtube. So does anyone have any suggestions for where I can move them to, where the videos will not be, over policed?

Another option is if someone was willing to host the videos for me. On youtube I have over 400 subscribers, and have had over 330,000 views of my videos over the last few years, so there is interest. Having my videos on your website would increase your traffic.

So, you might have realised that I am a bit pi$$ed off at this. So, I wonder, knowing the guy in the video's name, and where he works, how should I respond to this.....

Funny, I complained to Youtube about videos which were promoting the IRA. No response, and no action, the videos stayed on.

Perhaps you should wear a balaclava and carry a pistol:evil:

Tis all a bit silly, isn't it?
Have to say tho Maggers I wouldn't have thought twice about that pass...

EDIT: What is it nice to see, however, is two people who were caring / reasonable vs. the one idiot, rather than vice versa!

Sorry to hear that Magnatom - I've directed many people to your youtube channel including the whole "First Bus" Training Academy Trainees / Trainers / Examiners in Deans.
So if you have any proof that this guy works for "First" as you mentioned(as well as SPT) he would be disaplined - because he is in uniform and therefor a representative of the company.

Don't have any idea's where to put your vids - maybe you and young THOMAS + any other vid posters could get together?

I agree you should remove them from You Tube, by the way, if they're going to over police them so as not to upset the offenders. Is the whole point of your posts not to inform people of the possiblity of meeting "similar" offenders / bad drivers out there? Forewarned is forearmed.

All the best to you. Good luck.

Unbelievable! - and they'll take MT's off on a whim, makes you wonder what their morals are. It's probably policed from the states and they funded the IRA for years!

They have given me 48 hours to edit the video (remove his face etc) or to remove it. If not I assume they will.

Do you work with them in some way?

I've always wondered if it was worth offering a talk/presentation to bus companies etc to show the world from a cyclists perspective. Obviously I'd need to be willing to 'take the flak' as well.

Interesting. There is a video of me up on YouTube (its still there - I checked) which I asked to be removed for similar reasons and referring to me as something very unpleasant indeed.

Obviously that's OK to stay.

Friends husband is a trainer "remember" we've discussed it before(on here) - you wanted me to pass on your "good wishes" after some admirable driving by "First Drivers".

Oh! After a short period of unemployment - and hatred of being a contracting "Maintenance Engineer" after years of being in management - I may very well end up working for them. My only other option right now is the North Sea(Rigs). So watch this space.

The training school at "First East" is run by an ex- chief traffic policeman, who has vast pursuit driving experience and a sound knowledge of the roads. I don't know if he would be interested - but I can put out my feelers, so to speak. You may have to approach the "First Group."

I do know "all" new bus drivers are advised to be extremely cautious around / behind and while passing cyclists on the road.

Same here, along with most of the apparently "dangerous" things Mags posts up. In no way were you ever put in harm then and blurting out the rubbish that he is supposed to give you three feet is a waste of time because nowhere does it state that motorists should give three feet when passing cyclists. Ok, in an ideal world it would state this just like it does in the US but over here that is not the case.

YouTube are awful when it comes to this sort of thing. And unless you are a YouTube Director it is extremely difficult to get a personal response from them. It sounds like you're in some automated process, maybe he used the Flag button to instigate this?

Unfortunately it is very easy for people to censor others on YouTube for whatever reason. I'd be inclined to try and fight this, or remove the video and re upload, or ask your YouTube friends to post your video to their channel so it becomes viral which is an excellent way to fight these censors. I'd be happy to upload your video for instance.

There are a number of advice videos on YouTube regarding false flagging for videos.

I agree! That particular pass wouldn't have bothered me - but I find it hard to judge some of Magners vids because of where the cameras are.

Doesn't the "Highway Code" say treat cyclists like a car(don't have a copy handy) - eg; fully cross the white line onto the other side of the road.
Car drivers would if it was a horse they were overtaking for risk of getting their car damaged if they spooked the horse.

Edit;Mr Paul just said the same thing - while I was typing.

Whilst I wouldn't have been phased by that pass, I wouldn't say the intention of what Mags is doing is wrong, I think bringing bad driving to people's awareness is a necessary thing to be doing. I do think that sometimes it can get a bit officious and nit-pick-y, but as I said, the intention is good, methods may need work.
