Probably going to start a project

Now there's a scrapyard / tip near me and they usually stock the frames of old bikes that have been chucked away. I was thinking of building a fixie for fun (and to generally commute on) with second hand, good condition parts just to see how cheaply I could build one and get some good quality out of it.

Has anyone else ever done anything like this before?

Some leave the frame original, some rattle can them, and others go for full professional re-sprays, the world really is your oyster.

Ebay will probably be your main choice supplier to keep your budget low, but there are loads of other shops like Velosolo, Freshtripe Bikes and Charlie the Bike Monger.

Just Google 'fixed gear' and you can browse from now until kingdom come.

i have just finished doing 4th single speed bike all either from complete geared bikes or just frames and then converting them to single speed and all done for no more than £85 all in , got another frame set ready for next project , have a go its a bit of fun and experiance .
