Converting a hybrid 700c to fixed /single speed

I know there are lots of single speed conversion kits available for freehubs but is there a way to convert a 700c freehub back wheel to fixed, my only option seems to be a 130mm OLD flip/flop hub and try to gain 5mm somewhere and build a wheel planning on converting a winter bike to fixed but I will go for s/s if I can't.

I'd put this as a last resort but you could try welding the flanged section and the splined section together so the freewheel can't do its job.

I wonder if there is a way to fix the freehub , though there may be issues with dissimilar/ unsuitable metals and heat distortion with your suggestion, but you never know.
