Yes, thats where mine is mounted. You have to move your hand forward to use the brake hard, then its effectively out of reach, although only by about 2 inches.
Must say thanks for your page above, when I bought mine I used it as a reference, cheers.

I hope you bought it through one of my links...they make me (a very, very, very) small amount of money

The local cycling "character" has a whistle in his mouth at all times, ready for instant use.
Like the rest of him, the whistle has been painted hi-viz yellow.

I've been called "rude" and "ignorant" for using my little toy-shop horn (to warn peds who've strayed onto the bike lane). I got it because nobody hears the bell !
This time though I didn't have time to hit the horn, I just yelled. She still walked into me. (ffwd to 2:28)
