Problems with sram tt 500 levers

Just put a pair of sram tt500 levers on my sprint, with a shimano 105 f/mech and chainset, which in theory should work. but i can only get the f/mech to change on only two chainrings and not the third outer one. I see that ice and catrike use the sram shifters on a triple, so i know that this isn't a problem.Has anyone got any ideas what i'm doing wrong?
My rear is a sram x9 and sram cassette so theres no issue there.

There is only just enough cable pull on the shifter for a triple, the shifter was designed for a double with loads of latitude, so it can take a bit of work to get all 3 chainrings. Also if your front mech is 'wide' you're stuck.
