Proper army surplus stores - recommendations

I barely understand that second sentence, and ignoring the last, to the first - why a rip off? They sell some decent snugpak stuff, along with much else. Of course not all the stuff is genuine army but still a lot of useful down to earth bits for camping etc. And last time I was there I picked up some sealskinz gloves for cycling at a very decent price.

I do know that until recently they had a link with a separate online operation which I believe they have now severed.

Northern quarter is an area known for hipster types, massive beards, overpriced ale and strange lagers....ExMOD means ex forces....I believe he was ex army. Rip off as in I could locate more or less all the stuff he flogs cheaper in different shops.....have I explained myself enough?
I dislike people paying/charged more than they probably ought to and due to the student population and proximity to a currently "cool" part of Mcr, trust me they are.
