Hello CycleChatters!

I've been offline for a while, after a bit of a scary brush with the grim reaper!

Long story short, felt unwell on 29th Nov, OH came home @ 11am on 30th (he'd been away overnight) and found me semi conscious on sofa (having managed to get son up and packed off to school!).

The rest is a blur, spent a few days in the critical care unit and 10 days in hospital in total with a diagnosis of septacaemic shock. Have been home a while now and im slowly recovering, but still very tired, dizzy and weak, so definitely no bike or car for me for the time being.

Starting to get a bit bored, but happy to be alive and being very well looked after by my OH and Mum!

Happy Christmas!

Blimey Sara! Get well soon.

Get Well Soon Sara, that must have been a tad scary. How on earth did you get septacaemic shock?
Just unlucky, I had typical appendix symptoms initially, but a CT scan of my abdo was clear, and the initial focus of infection remains a mystery!
Me and the OH are both experienced critical care nurses, so the experience was bizarre and frightening as we were aware exactly what was going on . TBH, I think he's more traumatised than I am.

I think illness is always worse for the 'watcher'! I have haemopleagic migranes and it scares the life out of Packrat. I am generally past caring when he is worrying.

Daytime TV is horrendous, I do hope that you feel less bored soon, but being looked after is a bonus? Yes?
