I think you're wrong.

You've misunderstood my point, brompton don't know what mount / cage you might fix there. Some may work, a lot defo wont work so far better to only fit to one side so no-one finds and issue and complains.

besides most people wont take it bike packing, they only need to say - look I've got a mount on my fork for my trangia stove for when i go bike packing - isnt that wonderful. Same person will also have a 4X4 for using on the school run.

Far better to fit mounts on both sides and give people the option of fitting something that fits and works.
It's not just about bikepacking, Bromptons have limited bottle carrying options so a couple of extra bottles on the front forks using compatible mounting systems would be very useful.
Besides, many people would see this bike as a viable touring/bikepacking bike and I can't see any reason not to fit bosses on that side of the fork.
Nobody's going to complain that if they fit a cage there that it interferes with the fold, they're just going to find a system that doesn't interfere with the fold.

I'm slightly disappointed with what I'm seeing of the spec of this new G-Line. I mean, it was Alfine hub that quashed at least one Brommie Transcontinental race attempt. Plus, only a week before it was announced, I finally ordered a different N+1, and it's not a Brommie, and not arrived at my LBS yet, so, not at all upset that there wasn't a brommie option. Also, no mention of whether can run tubeless. Does look cool though, but not in my ideal colour scheme, so failure there. Had to go try Cwmparc Forestry trail on normal Brommie to get it out of my system...

Near 14kg seems a lot too... I think all my bikes are around 10kg... 11kg max, and while I could do to lose more than 3kg off my body again, does seem a bit of lump. Not upset at all that it dropped just as my N+1 is on a boat somewhere, honest. Did drop in at LBS and tell them not to become a brommie stockist and get any in, until at least I've got my new bike and wont need to go there for a while.

Comes tubeless ready if fitted with the Schwalbe G One tyres according to the Brilliant Bikes video

Having seen all the specs and a few of the video reviews, I'm still really interested in the G Line. Whilst bigger in the fold I still think it ticks the box of being able to put it on a commute train into London if required. For me it also opens up longer rides if I were to chuck it in the car whilst away travelling, beyond what would be comfortable on current P Line. More comfort and less small wheel skittishness also a bonus. Am also used to commuting the 18 miles into London on my full size gravel bike (35 mm G One tyres), and this will provide more options for part train / longer cycle legs.

Anyway, the one question I'm still pondering is the ability to fly with the G Line. I've got a B&W box for my current P Line which I've taken on a few works trips so I can explore wherever I'm headed. Clearly the G Line wouldn't fit that box, but wondering if the collective minds here know of any alternatives that might fit the new bike. Looks to be 71cm x 68 cm folded. Lightweight bag plus lots of padding is an option but obviously more hassle than the B&W case which just acts like a large wheeled suitcase.

Presumably the after-market suppliers will soon come out with various bags and cases that will fit the G Line and also various weight saving parts.

Indeed I would hope so. Am also guessing a suitably large wheeled suitcase could work, with the right amount of additional padding. Trying to find one of the right shape and size is the challenge.

Thanks. Yeah noted that, although through work I usually end up flying BA which is quite generous when it comes to anything like this, and you can usually fly with a full bike box for no extra charge (assuming you've got paid hold luggage that is). Obvs don't want to go full size box with a folder, hence my question around a more suitably sized case. I shall keep having a snoop around the web for ideas....

I like the concept of a touring Brompton. For those looking for an Airnimal or Birdie with the Brompton fold it looks great. My reservation is that I wouldn’t want to be using it regularly on public transport as 14 kg is a lot to lug about when folded and the folded package looks quite big. Im also not sure why they have gone with disks. For commuters a regular Brompton with its brilliant fold still looks the better bet.

Oi! I love my bling 2019 CHPT3. Purchased to celebrate my 70th and " blinged up " a little over the years. I wouldn't sell it, but would consider swapping it for a T Line 😁
