I can't relax and enjoy the ride with a queue of 15mph traffic behind me.

Let em through as often as possible/sensible. Usually get thanked if its obvious I've pulled over and I beckon with right arm.

I pulled in to a layby to let a lorry past this morning, I had just turned off the A7 onto the B6482 at Lothianbridge. The road narrows at the turn off and is uphill, but he didn't try to crowd me, unlike the bus last week, so it seamed only fair to let him go past as soon as was safe to do so...

Not black & white but I tend to consider pulling in as per Highway Code. I even do it sometimes when I'm in my car. Today I stopped 3 times at non-zebra areas to let peds cross to central reservation. I was in the car, the hood was down, each time I got a cheery thankyou. Must be something to do with not being isolated by a ton of metal.

Cycling through the twisty roads of the Trossachs yesterday I pulled over a fair bit. I guess its a respect thing with me if the drivers are being respectful I'll pull in and on the whole drivers were being very respectful. I think only one driver thanked me though
On the commute unless I'm going slower than traffic jams I don't tend to pull in at all; I sometimes adopt a secondary position but the roads are plenty wide enough on my route. I quite often like to let a big vehicle like a bus out though and draft them

My wife and I were in the Trossachs this weekend as well. Many of the roads are just single lane with passing places. It is only polite to pull over at the passing places to let traffic through.

On my commute across Coventry I tend to have a lot of parked cars to deal with, and use primary a lot. If theres a gap in the parked cars and I am holding people up I will pull in and let them through. Same if I am out on narrow country lanes, if I have a queue forming and I can safely let them past I will. The club is the same, if there is a queue forming behind the group and we can safely let them past we will.

I pull over if I have to and I don't expect a medal. They are protected by big metal boxes and drive like clowns (some of them) so my safety is more important. Also careful at pinch points.

I though that; when entering the path around Loch Katrine on Monday I thought I saw you both but on second look it wasn't

We were around Loch Katrine on Sun, on Mon morning we did a short ride up the side of Loch Voil (Balquidder). We stayed in Callander for the weekend and had three days of excellent cycling.

if im on my trike which admittedly i have only had for a month i have waved people on if i can see the road ahead is clear and have also slowed down and allowed other vehicles to overtake parked cars when travelling towards me and so far have mostly had positive reactions however when on my bike tend not to as normally there is enuff room anyway and also drivers in general tend to treat me more courteously if im on my trike.

On my commutes I don't necessarily stop, but if I have been in primary for my safety, then I often pull over quite close to the kerb afterwards as a thank you and to let the traffic pass, then move out to a more normal secondary position.

I move over towards the kerb if there is a large gap between parked cars, ie. 100m+ but I'm always careful when coming back into the main flow of traffic. Having said that, Stirling isn't a big place so it's not as much of a problem. On country roads I move towards the edge of the road where it is safe to do so to allow other vehicles past but again, it's got to be done in a safe place; read the road ahead and judge where it will cause least inconvenience to both me and the car. Having spend a long time riding mopeds, it's all about keeping average speed up which is something I also try to do on the bike! These are odd occasions however, I mostly though I just let other road users get on with their overtakes.

Whenever I feel that the traffic may move quicker with me out of the way, if I'm able.
Also when an idiot gets in behind.

If there is a BMW driver behind me definitely, because I love them so much.:?:

To be fair, a lot of BMW drivers are okay. I had a few stick behind me tonight and when they did over take they didn't go past like dick heads.

Had some idiot merc driver, yelling over his wife "opwhfiusdbhffssdf"...which I assume was "use the shared path thing" and soo many morons who didn't realise - it is wet...I can not just suddenly stop...and for pete's sake, give more room than usual!

Still it wasn't that bad, I got to test out the rain jacket for my rucksack.
