Pump and Valve

Hi there. When I unscrew the pump after inflating my tyre (for example after putting in a new tube after a puncture) the Presta valve comes away with it (not the whole valve but the top part). Anyone else experience this?. This is the pump is use:

Was it a Continental tube?

No - these were Specialised tubes

Presumably have removable cores too then. PITA whatever the brand. Were you able to screw it back in and pump off again or did it launch into the ether as Conti ones do

With that pump you absolutely need to attach the hose to the valve first and then the pump to the hose
