I am trying to pump up my tyres, i have a track pump and the tyre has skinny valves but even though i put pump end on it just will not work, had the same problem with other bike that has big valves but son managed without problem; Is there something i am missing?

Did you unscrew the nut at the top of the valve?
Are you moving the lever on the pump nozel the correct way?
On my pump I have a double sided nozel, I have to move the lever away from the valve to engage the nozel over the valve.

Once you've unscrewed the knurled nut as above you may still need to press the top of the valve core down to release a little air first. This is because the valve is still sealing internally as there has previously been high pressure inside. Alternatively, if you have muscles like a gorilla just keep pumping and it will open.

To recap: let a little air out first

1. Unscrew the bronze part underneath the cap. (Might be silver)

2. Press It in to release a tad bit of air

3. attach pump and click the lock on the pump to hold it secure

4. Pump up to desired psi

5. Re screw bronze part and add black cap

6. Enjoy!
