It was definitely your common thorn that had gone through the tyre and burst the tube.
I would expect the M+ to stand up to a thorn.
I wouldn't mind the occasional puncture, but the problem is the tyres are so hard to get on that if I ever got a puncture I'd need to phone a taxi!
