Massive thanks to Pedrosanchezo for his build on the Ribble R872 but I've plumped for the Planet-X Pro Carbon which should be delivered later this week.

Overall it cost me £1,299.99 complete with the SRAM Red groupset. I'll update this thread later with the complete build spec, photo's and review once I've received it.

To say I can't wait is an understatement. It's going to be a big jump from my Giant Defy 4 with the Shimano Sora which I ride at the moment.

I've got on on the way (with fewer upgrades) and I'm dying to see/feel/ride it. I should get it tomorrow. But if I were in Sheffield I'd be there on Planet-X's doorstep!

As promised heres the build spec of my Planet-X Pro Carbon;

Frame: Planet-X Pro Carbon - Fineline
Forks: Planet-X Pro Carbon - Fineline
Front Mech: SRAM Red
Rear Mech: SRAM Red
Shifters: SRAM Red
Chainset: FSA Gossamer 50-34
Brakes: Tektro R320 Calipers
Saddle: Planet-X Superlight Team
Stem: Planet-X Superlight Team 3D Forged
Bars: Planet-X Road Bar Strada Shallow Drop
Headset: FSA Orbit CE Headset
Seatpost: Planet-X Superlight Team 3D Forged Alloy Seatpost
Wheels: Shimano RS30 Clincher
Price: £1,300

As you can see their are a few parts on the bike where they've obviously scraped some money back but it will be a massive upgrade from the bike which I ride at the moment and can't wait to get my hands on it.

I hate the way they don't give you SRAM Red brakes and chainset but then again at the price you pay, they have to skrimp on something.

I believe that a full SRAM Red group set retails for £1,900, so it is always going to be tricky to get the full groupset on a bike costing £1,300.

Looks like a nice bike with a good spec. Enjoy.

My SRAM Red groupset cost nowhere near £1900. Minus crankset (not a good comparison as mine is a power meter) I paid about £900.

I went with SRAM Rival, an 11-32 cassette for my Serious Hill Inclinophobic Trauma, and didn't upgrade the wheels from RS10s - when I do upgrade them, I've got another bike waiting alongside for ''hand me downs.'' I've only managed to get a couple of miles test ride on it since it arrived this morning. I needed to do a little indexing to get it changing smoothly through all the gears and, while it didn't feel completely smooth on the stand, there was certainly no problem on the road. It feels good to ride and nippy by my standards to boot. I'll take it up and down a couple of local hills before dark tomorrow and take some photos. In so far as I can judge after only 2 miles on the flat, the saddle feels pretty comfortable and the Tektro brakes seem surprisingly responsive.

Did a spot of window shopping in their (planet x) showroom yeterday and the kit looked really impressive for the prices! (If i was 20 years younger i'd be upgrading next year via planet on one etc but if i need to upgrade anything its my joints with super extreme ultimate cod liver & hypergrade glucosamein sulph)
Sure your new bike will be worth it ;)
