Looks like Rose may invoice under a UK VAT number - they do have an office in the UK and there is a Rose GB Ltd or similar.

Unless you're set on a Bianchi, I'd recommend one of these

Seems better value for money than the bianchi you linked above

Looks nice that, and have been investigating Canyon before going back to the Bianchi. It's not directly compatible model for model though. The one above is an endurance type, rather than a more racy mix.

This is probably more directly comparable?

How do these brands compare though?

Yup. Like that too Nd posted about it in another thread recently.

How do the likes of Rose, Canyon and Focus compare to Bianchi, De Rosa, etc?

Ordered on 21st July. Arrived today, 30th July. That timescale included them ordering bike in to Germany from Italy.

Collected from UPS depot, with no request for VAT or Duty. No mention at all.

I would certainly order from abroad again and definitely recommend BianchiStore.de. Erik was very helpful throughout!

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
You will have paid at least German VAT -19%. No duty is payable within the EU.

I have had no problem ordering from German suppliers, and delivery has often been as quick or quicker than from UK. After all aren't all new bikes delivered in big cardboard boxes in a truck whether to your LBS or directly to you yourself? IME they are better set up when direct from the likes of Rose or Ribble.

Indeed. Mentioned earlier in thread about VAT paid in Germany, but I was initially worried that I could be stung for both. Needn't have worried though.

Definitely the same as ordering from anywhere in the UK. Took 8 days to get ordered and delivered to Germany from Italy, which is fair enough as stated in advance, but only 16 hours to get from Munich to Swansea...only for UPS UK to fail to deliver due to "not being able to fit it on the van"!

We always fail in the UK.
