Putting bike in aeroplane hold - deflate tyres?

Hi
I might fly with my Brompton tomorrow and I suddenly wondered if I need to deflate the tyres .... I think not, but better check!

Absolutely no need.

Its simple physics. Fly your bike into space and the pressure differential will rise by a mere 14PSI. It really ain't an issue.

There is no need, but there is a requirement. They will want you to deflate the tyres. Utter BS, but those are the rules. I cannot for the life of me figure out why they require it.

No need only about 10 psi difference,plus rims are more likely to damage with flat tyres.

They never deflate the planes tyres...

Cheers. As it's in a suitcase sized er .... suitcase, do I check it in in the normal way or does it have to go special handling with all the skis and Surfboards?

The only thing they've found so far from that missing Malaysia Airways MH370 plane is a bike with punctures in both tyres

At the check-in counter, they will tagged it and then ask you to head towards special handling.
